Collecting Angels

I've had this feeling all month that there was an Angel inside of me just waiting to escape!
This is one of a range of "Angel dolls" that i am designing.
They will all come with a drawstring bag that will have a saying on the front.Inside will be words of love or words of wisdom.

Mixing silver with gold

Some more beads. These are for my daughter
who has got her first Christmas tree.
I have mixed gold with silver so she is not
stuck to just one shade. There are so many different silver and gold beads out there,
don't be scared to mix.Hold them next to each other in the shop when buying so you can mix and match.

Bead it!

Come on everyone , get your beads out

and decorate. This is a little tree and i

love how the beads catch the light from

a near by lampshade.

Every year i think i won't be making another beaded
angel for anyone,as i presume everyone has enough,
And then someone will say, " please make me an angel"
I guess no one could have enough angels!

Mixed Media Beads

The sky's the limit

get out all those beads

and get creative!

mixed media christmas ornaments

Hi got into a beading mood and decided to pull out rusty stars and bells and mix with earthy beads, brown velvet cord and ribbon!
Really happy with the finished result, hang them on the wall or on your tree.
Get your beads out and decorate your tree differently this year, go earthy or bling.
Glass beads would be stunning with christmas lights.

Wow i did it. Not so good at sewing late into the night anymore .But when you complete an idea it is sooo worth it.

Hi my daughter housemoved out recently into
her own place and we have been invited to
tea tomorrow. I thought a little house warmer
would be nice so have made her a plastic bag
holder.Will try to design her a pegbag to match.
As her kitchen is black and white ,i found this
black and white spot and it just spoke to me.

An Apple on Christmas day will keep the Doctor away

WoW it feels good to be back on line.
Lots has happened since my last post,
and part of which we sold our house and are staying in our friends cottage
until we find a new home.
With Christmas round the corner i decided to go all fruity, these apples could be used just as decor or as pincushions.Had a whole lot of fun
mixing and matching colours. Used jute (string) for the stem and a button under. The star fabric was created by
embroidery the stars on randomly with my embroidery machine then
cutting out the apple pattern on it.
Hmm maybe i'll do pears next!

Had a wonderful time designing this layout. For the word "sweet"I embriodered on a sample piece of red fabric I had , and then cut the letters out.The "innocence " I embriodered on another sample piece and stuck that straight down after using pinking shears on edges.I just cannot help using fabric with the paper . They seem to compliment each other and you get more textures to your page.I hope you enjoy viewing this as much as I enjoyed do it:}

When wrapping a gift ,and the paper is too wide, cut apiece off fold the edges in neatly then sew all around to make a belt to wrap around your gift.Stamp on a piece of cardstock, cut out and attatch to belt with ribbon and you are ready .You could even make a buckle or add a flower:}

It is cooling down over here in South Africa so now is the time to start cleaning out cubboards and organizing messy sewing rooms. I have started by collecting various glass jars and decorating some,then filling with buttons,ribbons,flowers ect. All these I will arrange on shelves so at a glance I can find what I want and be inspired by all the colour and textures around me:}

This is an on going project I am doing for my daughter's 21st,this is just one page using the
button Alpha I created on embroidery machine. I have stitched on to cardstock then cut the letters out ,and sewn the buttons on. After that just attatched with two sided tape to my page. Watch this space for more pics of the scrap booklet.

Because love was in the air I got inspired to
make this vintage tea cosy. I added a pocket for fun to put serviettes or sugar sachets\teaspoons
in, as never enough space on my trays. Because of all the scrapbooking I've been doing I got the idea of the lettering on the front. I call it the button alpha.Oops! took the photo too quick, added the forgotten button on the "L" and put a loop of ribbon on top with another button.Now we can have tea in style! Who would like to join me?
